When the Pokéleague came to Hoseki, it was as if all the problems of the region just vanished before the people's very eyes. With the embrace of Pokémon as an important part of society, Hoseki became a prosperous region, and finally relevant in the global community.
However, not everyone experienced the boom. Unable to find a place in this changing society, some people were simply left behind. And so, Team Lucre came into being- a shadowy organisation with one clear goal; the accumulation of wealth and power. Its members are strong-willed. Many act out in desperation, in hope, or for revenge. Either way, they are hellbent on getting everything they were promised, with force if necessary.
Which side will you chose, and which path to prosperity calls? A land of excitement and adventure awaits. Let's go!
Details:
Celestial Hoseki is an AU, game-based game. It is set in the original region of Hoseki, a semi-tropical island region that only recently accepted Pokémon as anything other than glorified animals and established the assorted Challenges. The backstory is semi-political, but there’s a good deal of wiggle room.
Character Types:
We tried to allow as many types as we could, the final list being as follows:
-Trainers
-Co-Ordinators
-Breeders – Breeders are in fact functional and you can earn Pokédollars by selling Pokémon.
-Researchers – Can be any kind of academic, not just Pokémon researchers, but teachers, journalists, etc
-Team Lucre – We tried to leave the motivation for joining TL as open as possible.
-Rangers
-Civilians/Others – For when you just want to RP a normal person in a Pokéworld.
If you join and feel that there isn’t enough for your character ‘class’, then feel free to toss us a few suggestions. Heck, send a few even if you don’t join.
Battling:
Being based on the games, we use a semi-turn-based system for fighting. We do try leave enough space to keep it fluid however, and if two players wish to use an alternate battling system in their thread, then we’re fine as long as we are notified of it beforehand.
We do use levels, which are a vague approximation of how strong your Pokémon is. Levels are not all important though. Skills are as important as strength, and you can outmanoeuvre tougher opponents with enough ingenuity.
Each Pokémon is restricted to six moves. Abilities are also in use.
The RP is new and a little empty. We’re hoping to get some members before starting proper, so we’d really appreciate people joining, or even just some helpful advice.
