3. The Setting

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,95%,true][atrb=align,center,true][bg=#bcbcbc] THE SETTING ( where our story is set. ) Chase the truth takes place in Shigayomi, a fictional town in Okinawa prefecture. It is located on Okinawa Island. Shigayomi is taken from Shigai-yo-mizu, which translates to town over water, and it was named as such because the town was built around and over a bay. Parts of the town are actually built on docks over the water. Most of the towns business comes from import and export, as a large port has been built at the mouth of the bay, with several docks and a marina inside the bay itself. The town has a relatively large shopping district, the eastern half of which lies on the boardwalk, including a Junes that is now about two years old. North of the Shopping District is the Business District Shigayomi High School is located on the southern end of the bay, and it is about the same size as Yasogami High School. There is a dorm for students that is located just inside the Residential District. The Residential district lies on the north side of the Shopping and Business districts, On the southern end of the port rests Shirumi beach, and the beachfront Kaneko Inn, which is popular with tourists. At the western edge of town lies the Koganehara Cemetery, and the mausoleum that leads to the Abyss.
