The first day of high school was suppose to be a great and happy occasion. It was suppose to be filled with happy teenagers, so glad to almost be out of the compulsory school system. So joyful to be able to work, go to college or pursue other dreams. What had happened that made it so miserable for Mizuki? Oh right. Her father had cut her.
The student orientation had been long and boring at first. The teachers all spoke, and so did the student presidents and council members. The principle spoke as well, and so did some "inspirational" past graduates. About half way through the speeches, a group of bored boys did that bored boys do best. They caused trouble. It had started with them flicking each other on the ears, but like with most little games, boys loved getting physical. Soon they were pushing and shoving.
Unfortunate for Mizuki, she had been sitting next to them when it started. One of the boys rammed into her seat, causing her to fall over onto the floor. The boys stopped fighting after that and were sitting back down now, a teacher having scolded them. The principle was trying to continue with the speech, and all was quiet now. Mizuki hadn't gotten up yet, not sure what had just happened. A female student reached out to help her get up, but the moment her hand gently touched Mizuki's back, a scream filled the air. A teacher ran over to her. All the teacher's had been informed of Mizuki's... special needs. She was escorted out of the assembly and led to the shoe lockers. "You can wait here until class begins or head home," the teacher told her.
After they left, Mizuki frowned. Everyone was taking too much pity on her. She had a mild freak out! That was all! Mizuki grabbed her head in frustration. Now everyone would know her as the girl who screamed bloody murder at the orientation! And her throat was feeling horrible now. The doctor's had told her not to talk too much, and there she went screaming. It wouldn't surprise her if the stitching got loose now/ She sat on a bench in front of the shoe locker, tapping her fingers nervously against the metal as she took deep breaths trying to calm down. The orientation would last another half hour or so. What was she suppose to do now?

The first day of high school, oh boy. Honestly, the work of a school nurse wasn't that difficult, especially on the first day of all things, but poor Maria really didn't look forward to orientations. Having to introduce herself in front of a large group of people was something that her normally reclusive nature didn't take kindly to as she stood up, brushing off her red and blue dress as she approached the podium.
"H-hello! My name is Shigekuni Maria and I'll be your nurse for this year. I-if you're ever feeling sick or injured, please come to my office."
Her time came and went quickly enough and now the only thing left was to wait for the principle to finish giving his speech. At least, that was the plan, but things don't always go according to plan, especially where rowdy teenagers are concerned. Even on the first day there's always bound to be trouble makers and this wasn't going to be an exception it seemed. Once they knocked that poor girl onto the ground, the other teachers cleared up the disturbance quickly enough, but when the girl on the floor screamed like a cat with it's tail on fire, Maria nearly fell out of her seat! (She's easily startled, don't judge her!)
She was pretty sure that she knew who that student was though, so after shoving her heart back down into her chest she decided to gather up her bag of gloriously fluffy bread and follow the teacher escorting the girl out of the room. Before the year began all the teachers had been informed about this particular student's...condition...so Maria thought it might be a good idea to check on her to make sure she was feeling alright. She was supposed to be the nurse after all.
She found the girl sitting on a bench in the shoe lockers and approached her nervously, unsure of how to introduce herself. "U-um. H-hello there. I'm...um...M-Maria, the nurse. Are...are you alright?" She sat down close, but not too close to the girl, still wondering how she should be talking around someone like this and feeling awkward all the while. Looking around anxiously, her eyes suddenly stopped on the bag she was holding, full of the spoils of her needlessly large morning bread order. She reached in and pulled out a warm bun, shakily holding it out in the general direction of the girl as though she were trying to feed a lion or something. "W-want a...bun?" [/size]
