Even more so, on the chore he was doing, carrying some water on a pole. Why he did this was because it was one his duties to bring new fresh water by his own back as an attendant to the Shrine. It was strictly tradition, but a tiresome one at that. However, Jiyuu’s exhausted expression says it all on his back to the Shrine.
Step, by each working step, he tried to make his way back to the Shrine. He hated doing this, but he just can’t simply say no to them, his parents were getting old and his body was young to a lot of work. It didn’t seem fair to complain on that part, though he didn’t like it as much. He also tried putting his mind off the thought, that he may do this for the rest of life. Jiyuu, seriously didn’t want to confine into this place, he needs more, much more. It was greedy of him, yes, but everyone wants something.
Once he had finally reached his destination of the shrine, he poured the water on the small pool that represents Suijin, a deity of water. Jiyuu was pretty that the weight was off his and shoulders, and in some kind of silver lining, he thought he should make a simple prayer here. It wouldn’t too much of a hassle, it was always wishing for. A simple praying stance and his eye lids closed, he said his prayer in thought. “Please, just someone answer this. Just I dunno, make my life better? No, that’s not it. Hm…dammit, this is confusing. I…can’t think of anything-“
It was here that his thought pattern was broken, and said quiet, yet a simple grunt of frustration. Jiyuu then scratched his and wondered why he even did that in the first place. Ah, the twist and turns in a teenage youth, how complicated this always is.[/style][style=margin:5px 20px;font:7pt helvetica;text-align:justify;text-transform:uppercase;color:#ccc;line-height:99%;padding:5px 10px;text-shadow:#ddd 1px 1px 1px;]words 329 tags Openess! notes "Darn you Sun!" credit table made by greyson of ote[/style] |

It was hot, really hot. Why did she have to be out with her grandmother on such a hot day? Mizuki sighed softly as she walked down the side walk with her grandmother. Her grandmother was so... lack luster. She was small, delicate and had the face of an aged gym teacher. It was sharp and tight, even the wrinkles didn't sag much. Obviously her grandmother had been very fit as a young woman. She had been raised in a strict house hold as well. In fact, she was wearing a kimono right now, and Mizuki had been forced into one as well. Something in her grandmother's mind would not allow her to visit a shrine unless she wore one.
When they arrived at the shrine, her grandmother handed her basket filled with Lilies from their garden pond and a small black box. "Go pay heed to the god," she instructed her granddaughter. Mizuki nodded solemnly as she turned and headed down toward the dock that held the shrine. Her grandmother would probably spend the afternoon speaking to the shrine's owners while Mizuki would be left to visit the shrine. They did this every time Mizuki had a break. It was getting tiresome.
As she approached the shrine, Mizuki looked at the young boy who was praying. She didn't say anything, only knelt in front of the altar. Placing the basket in front of her, she began to take out the flowers and lily pads her grandmother had given her. Apparently her family had done this for the shrine for centuries, and now that Mizuki was... well, the only young woman in the family, it was her chore.
Mizuki placed an incense onto the plate in front of the pool and lit it. She got onto her knees and ducked her head down, placing both her hands at the top of her head in an elegant and formal bow. When she sat back up, Mizuki reached into the basket and pulled out the small black box. She opened it and took the rolled up paper money from it. The money was placed in the offering box, along with five coins Mizuki fished from the bottom of the box.
After that was done, she brought both hands together and bowed her head softly, praying to the god. All while doing this, she was very conscious of the boy. She hoped he wouldn't pay much heed to the bandages wrapped across her neck.

I mean, feels like a hitting a brick wall at times, just hoping on faith. But, as his parents always say to him, “To go the through the river of life and what you choose to do from it is always a test itself, an endless one.” Endless, was a word for Jiyuu, he didn’t really like. Endless meant to him that nothing will ever change, it will just as it is. Though, it’s this very problem, he faced again and again in his head.
Before spending hours in his thoughts, he thought it was a good idea to collect some more water for the shrine. He would need his container before he can be on way. But, on his way getting the said container for his water, he had said a few words of his frustration. “Always the same, every day. . .” He sighed with disappoint in his downed tone. Jiyuu didn’t notice the sudden company he had until the very last possible second.
The very second, was when he was getting up with the container. There, he spotted a “girl”. Oh, you can be for certain that he panicked a little inside, being as close to one, and wearing such a pretty kimono no doubt. It was pretty bad on face as it got suddenly slightly red, but he tried, oh he tried to keep himself composed. Despite that all of his “girl trouble”, she was here, in a scorching day that it is in a kimono.
She performed few traditional acts, like a rituals and offerings, to the shrine like she was some kind of a priestess, for the local god Suijin. Jiyuu didn’t know too much about the rituals and customs himself, which only showed how much he really didn’t like his inheritance at all. He looked at the flowers were being placed in the water, and briefly wondered again what they meant. It looked somewhat mystical from it all in Jiyuu’s eyes.
The curiosity practically made his bashfulness almost completely vanish. It all focused to a common question, “Why?” To indulge his curiosity he would proceed to find out or try too. It was almost hard for him to speak at first, but the words would slowly come too. “U-uhh….good day, Miss.” His speech wasn’t a complete mess as it always been with girls, but the shyness still remained. He said just simple greeting, but his hope and intentions were learning at least little more about her.
Jiyuu was doing this, because he felt somewhat obligated to know why this girl was about to endanger her own health. Especially on a day like this, it would easy to get heat stroke. If it was on Jiyuu’s watch and if that heat stroke happened right in front of him? He wouldn’t forgive himself for doing nothing for the person, even if it’s just a bit or a small chance to just help her.[/style][style=margin:5px 20px;font:7pt helvetica;text-align:justify;text-transform:uppercase;color:#ccc;line-height:99%;padding:5px 10px;text-shadow:#ddd 1px 1px 1px;]words 500 tags Mizuki! notes "Ah, gotta love innocence" credit table made by greyson of ote[/style] |

♕ WE'RE TAKING CONTROL we get what we want, we do what you don't, dirt and glitter cover the floor, we're pretty and sick, we're young and we're bored
Kyosuke was once again off duty. Well he had enough sick days piled up that they were begging him to take days off. In those days off Kyousuke often visited this shrine or the bar but that was always for later y'know! Now it was a hot day, a really freaking hot day but Kyo was persistent and he just had to make it up those stairs man. Like seriously though, out of all the days why today? It was a hit and miss kind of thing that had Kyo facepalming at the thought. Anyhow Kyo was known around these parts for not only snarking but for often meditating here and beating the living crap out of unfortunate soul who accepted his challenge.
Ah yes the Tachibana challenge. Currently Kyosuke possessed a pair of Kendo sticks in a guitar case like bag on his back. Interesting enough, Kyo hasn't been beaten yet because most the people who accept are either weak or wusses. Kyo had to laugh at that thought as he approached the top of stairs wiping the sweat from his forehead. Hmm? It wasn't often to see teens visiting this place except for that ONE time Kyo had to chase and tackle one here. That counts as a visit right? He was praying while he was being cuffed so it should count! Going on now he began a walk with a smile on his face with his police shield dangling on his neck. He didn't need it but it was sort of a good luck charm. Once he reached the two he'd bow to the shrine. He'd pay his full respects later.
"Interesting to find young people here." Still smiling. It should be noted that even at 26 Kyo looks at least 18.

Mizuki put her hands down slowly, laying them over her knees. Great, now that she had done all that stuff, she would have to wait until her grandmother came to get her. Goodness knows that Mizuki would never go to her grandmother and friends by her own will. The moment Mizuki would step through those doors her grandmother and her friends would probably start picking and pulling at her, trying to make her attractive for a husband. She would never hear the end of it! So, yes, she stayed at the shrine, sitting properly, staring at the water.
Her ears twitched as she heard the boy who had been there when she arrived speak. Mizuki looked up, blinking. What should she do? The doctor said she wasn't suppose to talk! Her eyes shifted to the ground, as if trying to avoid talking to him. That would probably seem rude. She looked back up to him, opening her mouth as if to speak, but no sound came out. Instead, she pointed to the bandages around her throat, hoping he'd take is a signal that she couldn't speak at the moment.
Just as an awkward silence descended onto the pair, another voice broke through the quiet. It was an older man. Mizuki could recognize him as a detective. Was he one of the ones who were called to her home after the attacks? Or did she meet him after when being interviewed? She couldn't really remember. A majority of the policemen had been.. well, just black faces under bright lights.
She smiled softly at him, waving lightly. Mizuki hoped he was involved enough in police work to at least know why she couldn't reply to him vocally. Her eyes landed on the case that the detective was carrying on his back. Was that the one carrying the infamous Tachibana challenge? Mizuki beamed as she stood up, dusting off her pink kimono. She pointed at the case with one hand, making a sword swinging motion with the other, as if asking what was in the case.

Then, it looked like he succeeded in his attempt to make conversation towards her. But, it was a hope that was dashed too soon; all got from her no worded reply at all, just action. An action that was pointing to her neck for some reason and she was mouthing words. Jiyuu being as late reacted as he was noticed the bandages on at her at least. Jiyuu briefly wonder how and what happened to her, though it wouldn’t be best to ask since they just met supposedly for the first time. Now, he was about to speak his apology after the brief silence, but a new comer has broken the silence for him.
His direction was directed toward the Shrine’s door way where the voice was coming from. What he discovered was a youngish looking male, which seemed somewhat familiar to Jiyuu’s eyes. He just knew had seen his face before, but never exactly had any reason contact with the person. Though, maybe just maybe, it was someone who made frequent visits here? However, when Jiyuu thought of that, inspiration and realization would finally strike him in an instant.
The bolt of inspiration made the shocked face of Jiyuu. With this in hand, he would slowly word out his shock. “Officer Hachihana?” Yes, it was a pure guess at his name at best, but they didn’t exactly hang out together a lot. Jiyuu did know he was some sort of a police officer. What else seems to be off is what this man was carrying with him; it was a simple guitar case. Jiyuu thought maybe he really knew how to play a guitar and was a good guitarist himself; even wondered to a point if he can get some lessons. But, with a quick shake of his head, he knew that music lessons weren’t the agenda he had in mind; it was the girl’s health that had more priority to him.
He pointed the attention onto the mysterious pink kimono girl once more with concern. With a good heart and mindset all made, Jiyuu was ready to see if he can help her. “Oh, um. . . Miss, I’m sorry about before I didn’t know. Would you like some water? You look like you’re a bit stuffy in that kimono on a day like this.” It was really strange that there was no bashfulness in his voice. It had some confidence behind and it had a calm yet quiet manner to it, maybe his selfless compassion blocked out everything else inside of him. It can be described as both good and bad for a trait on a person, but in Jiyuu’s case, he’s just hoping he did the best he could for someone else.[/style][style=margin:5px 20px;font:7pt helvetica;text-align:justify;text-transform:uppercase;color:#ccc;line-height:99%;padding:5px 10px;text-shadow:#ddd 1px 1px 1px;]words 471 tags Kyo&Mizuki notes "Let there be socializing!" credit table made by greyson of ote[/style] |

Err Hachibana? Kyo couldn't do much more than laugh. Though what interested Kyosuke more was the girl. She had a bandage on her throat which made him think back to that very case. They were so close yet so damn far! If only...ugh Kyo knew it wasn't exactly his fault but he did still blame himself a bit. Still it was funny to see her here on such a hot day at that. Kyo had his obligations to keep by coming her daily and by the sword swinging motion the girl made he knew exactly what she was talking about. This once again brought that captivating grin of his to his face. "Umm that would be Detective Kyosuke Tachibana but please just call me Kyo, I prefer that. If you want to add Detective in front of that then I wont mind at all." Kyo said.
Currently he was taking the 'guitar case' off of his back and he placed to to the floor. There was a loud sound when the bag hit the floor. It was the equivalent of drum sticks hitting each other. Completely focusing on the case he'd unzip it fully opening the case showing the Kendo sticks. He wondered if the girl wanted to take him on which probably would be taking into objection of the young man but who cares. Taking one out he'd hold it up before slowly bringing back in front of him holding it with two hands. "Something tells me you wan't to take me on in this infamous Tachibana Challenge, you ever used a kendo stick?" Kyo said turning his focus towards the girl. "I wonder if this guy has enough balls to step in for her. But even then I'll still kick his ass one way or another. Holding back never gets anyone anywhere now a days anyhow."
