Two hours passed since the students arrival at the local police station, by way of his friends scooter. Most employed in the edifice knew his blank facade, but many particularly cared not for seeing it. Some may believe he became an annoyance over time even though his heart was in the right place. Those sentiments concerning the unusual cases, festering his conscious were understandable by all means, however, bothering the police officers too much was how he obtain such a label. True, he handle this scenario rather aggressively, to the point of obsessing, but he only desired justice like everyone else.
Yohei sat cross-legged in a uncomfortable chair, patiently waiting for a detective or anyone that has knowledge on the mysterious case. Hopefully they have some sort of update on the strange occurrence, and are prepared to be annoyed by the blunt teen. It felt as though it was his duty to be apart of the Scooby Doo detective agency, cooperation from others was a necessity.
Bzzzz. Bzzzz.
Yohei pants pocket vibrated softly on his thigh, begging for a little attention. Per usual, he longed for the caller to be Kiyoshi, but optimism in that degree had been failing for three months. Slithering his hand inside the pocket, he clamped down on the pulsating phone, then reeled it out. Pressing a button with his thumb woke the phone, allowing him to spy a single message. Of course it wasn't from his brother, he shook his head and read the message anyway. His devil friend who transported him to the station stated how she was bored of waiting and how he has to buy dinner plus gas for the scooter.
He rolled his eyes, placing the phone back into it's original area, then stood, darting toward the front desk.
"Kid --" the desk jockey peered over his eyeglass frames, tone expressing annoyance
"Look I want to speak to someone who isn't behind a desk. A person that actually knows something about the missing people. That's it."

It was a custom for them to visit each other ever since he was stationed in this town; her visiting him in the police station from time to time while he visits her in school while conducting his investigation (much to her dismay, on the school part). Either way, this is one of those days where she visits her dear cousin, who seems to be working on some sort of a case, as she entered the police station and was greeted with some of the denizens who seem to know her by connections. Normally, she wouldn't be caught in this place unless trying to visit her cousin, but lately the topic about these 'missing people' were so dense around that she could practically hear snippets here and there.
They should really try to keep those topics in check, otherwise someone could get wind about it and that would be one of their problems they need to handle in the near future.
Unfortunately, just as she was about to head towards the counter and ask the attendant if her cousin Kyo is around, she heard someone spoke, thinking at first that it was directed to the raven-haired female, before averting her attention to a guy with brown hair who seem to be saying something about wanting to speak with someone not on the desk-work. This is typical scenario, she thought with a sigh, though not as often as she blinked a bit and tried to decipher what the guy meant by his words. Normally, she wouldn't try to trudge herself to this, but things has been a bit.... odd as of late. And the 'missing people' seems to be the root word of it all considering it automatically registered to her about those topics floating around town about the said disappearance as well as the recollection of the e-mail she received.
Maybe...
"Uhm... excuse me," Not to be rude, but she do have that kind of a somewhat-laid back tone of hers. "Is there someone you need in the police station?" Of all the visits the female had been doing for a while, she never met this guy (that or she couldn't recall somehow) so probably it's safe to say this is her first time meeting him in this situation.
note; Welp, we'll see if they will become future rivals or something. Hut hut~

♕ WE'RE TAKING CONTROL we get what we want, we do what you don't, dirt and glitter cover the floor, we're pretty and sick, we're young and we're bored
The past two hours Kyo had been working in over drive. Ever since the recent 'missing' people, everyone had to make a call to find out what the department knew. Personally it was driving him mad because they had currently no leads at all. It was like chasing a ghost. Seriously for a person who was normally all smiles Kyo had to force one out of habit. All he wanted to do was go back to the office and take a quick break before going back to trying to find even a sliver of hope in these investigations. Kyosuke wouldn't fret to much on it though. He knew very well that he didn't get called an ace detective for nothing. He'd needed to find something, heck he had to or else a certain someone aka the head detective will be all over him literally.
So with a small sigh Kyo would walk into the department with coffee in hand and of course this was exactly what he needed to see the first thing he walked in.
"Detective Tachibana. I think this kid over there wants to talk to you. The clerk said now pointing to Yohei. Oh ho, Kyo put his life savings on the disappearance case. He prayed he was right because of karma though after all it IS his life savings. Interesting enough Kyo found Haruna talking the boy. 'Haru...why must you be so short and adorable? Seriously I think you could of waited a bit." Kyo sighed walking towards the two with a slight grin on his face. The grin was mostly for his cousin. "Haru. Call me next time so you don't have to come all the way by yourself and to you young man, What do you want to know?

Usually the teenager kept his manners in check, especially around adults, which in his mind deserve respect. At least his brother taught him such ways of life. Since a little toddler these teaching were nailed into his head, hardly ever wavering even if scenarios appeared unfair. However, Kiyoshi, that dear old sibling, was gone. Missing without a trace like many others. And the people supposedly helping citizens, in his mind, weren't doing a damn thing about it. Unjust and considered idiotic, the environment compelled him to disregard the kind nature.
Why was he being judged as an annoying kid? All he desired was to assist, and resolve everything like the lazy men in black.
"Listen...Idiot. Point me to some --" the hissing of poison laced daggers digressed upon hearing a soft, feminine voice beside him. The reddening anger flushing his face, shed away as he stared blank at her, blinking. Was she trying to considerate or just stating the obvious.
"U-um." Up and down went his head, nodding yes. Sounding and looking somewhat awkward to peers. He cleared his throat, sort contorted his body toward the short girl. "I am. Err, I'm looking for someone who can share any information about the string of missing cases." Straight tot he point. The corner of his mouth ticked slightly as if he wanted to smile but failed in the process.
Before she could answer, cause obviously he was done talking. A man, presumably an officer, strolled from the back area of the edifice. Yohei sworn he seen him in the past not to long ago, but couldn't tack a name to that face. The boy-ish looking man couldn't be a detective could he? Either way, he spoke and Yohei listen attentively acknowledging how he spoke to the girl next to him.
"Information about the missing cases" Answered the teen, eyes swiveling between the two unknown people. Although apparently these two knew each other, Yohei could only curiously wonder about the relationship. Yet, it really should be mean nothing to him. He was her for Kiyoshi, that should be his main concern.

Yuuki Akiyama power walked through the Business District and towards the Shigayomi Police Station like a hawk descending upon distant prey. His back was tensed, and he was leaning forward in an attempt to outstrip his own legs. He made long, steam-engine strides by keeping his knees unbent and swinging his legs out in front of him. His hands were clenched within the pockets of his smooth black pants, gripping (white-knuckled) the inside fabric as if he were holding the steering wheel of a car. Despite the hawkishness of his intentions and the mechanical fury of his impatience, however, he looked like an ostrich trapped inside of a man's body to the casual observer. His long hair, bouncing with each step and trailing behind him like a jet-stream (or an ostrich's plumed tail) completed the image. Those who didn't step out of his way or glare at him in disapproval ("The conduct of the youth today! Humm!") snickered and giggled at him as he passed.
He was fifteen minutes into a one hour dinner break. Dinner was the furthest thing on his mind.
Suddenly, Yuuki's right hand sprung from its pocket and fumbled about at his chest. After a few eager, hasty slaps and pats it procured a silver pocket watch on a chain from a pocket in his black vest. His hand was shaking with the force of his steps. He was using the sound of his well heeled shoes to beat out a tempo for himself.
Onetwo, Onetwo, Onetwo, Onetwo
The pocket watch, its silver chain flashing in the light, flopped out of his hand and jangled down to his knee, and was promptly bounced back up into the air by the force of his stride. Yuuki caught it and blinked.
No time for surprise. "Fortune favors the bold".
He grimaced at the cliche. There was no time for originality. There was no time for something new...was there?
Yuuki pressed the button at the top of his watch, causing its outside panel to flip open and reveal its face.
No, damn it all, there was no time!
Yuuki rounded (or possibly bisected) a corner, then passed through (or possibly vivisected) a traffic intersection. The streets were overflowing with people, but for Yuuki there was only himself and his destination.
A bell rang out in the back of Yuuki's mind.
I wonder how Asuka is doing? I've seen her so infrequently, lately. We should hang out sometime soon...
He shook his head, and contrary to what might be expected the bell was muffled instantly.
Some OTHER time, when I have more of it.
At last, he arrived at the station. He slowed down and, panting, adjusted his hair and his clothing. One thing his step-father, Mr. Akiyama, as dense and dry as he was, had taught Yuuki was the importance of a good impression. The police were probably about as good or better than even Yuuki at reading people's faces and voices. If he appeared before the police looking distressed and impatient, they would surely refuse his questions as the inquiry of another panic-stricken citizen. This would not do. Yuuki was not merely a concerned citizen, looking out for his own hide. He needed to find his mother, to restore order to his broken family. For his sake, for his father's sake, and for the sake of his sister too.
Take a deep breath, deep breath. Let it out, let it out.
He threw his hair back, and his hands came back drenched in sweat. Scowling, he walked in a quick, small circle to settle his heart-rate. He talked idly to himself to ascertain that his voice was even and that his tone was collected. It was a sunny day, and his sweat would possibly be ignored. How he wished he could be away from this city and everything, in a cabin in the woods somewhere with his family living a simple life as a writer.
This isn't the time for impossible fantasies! This is the time for action!
Yuuki stepped into the police station, hands clasped behind his back and his eyes leveled at the front desk. There was an exasperated attendant and a grinning man emerging from the back of the station. In front of the desk were two young students. Yuuki recognized the dark haired boy, but was at a loss to recall the raven haired girl. The boy, though...Yuuki often saw him sitting cross legged in an uncomfortable chair or debating hotly with the front desk attendant. He'd never really listened to what the boy came here so frequently for, though. He was always in too much of a hurry since he always came to the station on a break. This would be the perfect opportunity to overhear some gossip, and to learn where the boy had lost his bike or his scooter or whatever it was that children rode around on these days.
The clerk looked at Yuuki, expectantly. However, overhearing Yohei mention "the missing cases" made Yuuki wave his hand dismissively.
"You're probably not surprised that I'm here again, but I don't think I need your help this time. Sounds like you're already discussing what I came here for."
Yuuki smiled, disingenuously.
Word Count: 930ish OOC: Sorry it's so long, I think I got kind of carried away >.>

Perhaps she wasn't clear on the agenda, but it wouldn't help to ask more about it.
She blinked a bit at the male's statement, right before looking back at the receptionist as if telling not to mind the lad and just look for her cousin. Once again, it was normally unusual for the raven-haired female to prod into people's business especially if it has something to do with the mysterious 'missing people' and its rumor, so it's a bit surprising for those who know her that she got at least jack interest on them. That, or they just think she's just bored, but it's something close to that.
"Missing people..." She mused thoughtfully, taking time to think about it before she returned her attention back to the brunette. Just as she answered back, the familiar voice of her cousin Kyo called her attention as, without a change of emotions (typical, knowing her awkward status with raw emotions to other people when not singing on stage), gave a wave to the older male in greeting. "You're still not used to it?" She uttered in a blank tone, but still glad that he finally showed up. "I should say the same thing when you visit in my school without me telling, work or no work." Ah, yes, she still recall the last time he visited, and almost all the stuff she had in her hand has been used as a projectile against him. Still, she (sorta) blamed thank him for actually learning how to make a mean aim.
Listening once more to the brunette's intent question, she couldn't help but wonder why he is so keen in finding out about the missing people. Again, most of the people around would claim that as a rumor or talk about it more in a light-hearted manner, but maybe she could hutch that he must know something about it. Or maybe he must know someone who has been a victim. Still, she should not poke on people's business without proper acknowledgement, rather just stay silent and let things go on its way unless she knows something about it.
When another man entered the police station, the female quirked an eyebrow as she listened to his statement, the topic getting dangerously more and more into the ditch as she was forced to sink in to it. She only sighed at the thought, still staying silent and not say anything about it until she got a decent information. Her dad usually told her not to dwell on topics she doesn't know until she get a full knowledge on it, but maybe this is a good time to snoop on some.
note; Too bad this is before Haruna became part of the SEES. Ah well. XDDD

♕ WE'RE TAKING CONTROL we get what we want, we do what you don't, dirt and glitter cover the floor, we're pretty and sick, we're young and we're bored
Seriously Kyo seen this coming from a mile away. "Why are all you people all so damn freaking predictable huh? Sheesh wasn't the sit tight and relax notice from headquarters not enough? Seriously why in the hell did I decide to work today of all days? What am I supposed to say huh? Am I supposed to just say oh well I don't know anything but just hold on for a few days for any developments. GAH! This is so freaking stressful...I just want to relax...yare yare." After the rambling in his thoughts Kyosuke would sigh using his free hand to facepalm. Usually Kyo was a smiling person but at the moment there was a look of exasperation on his face. He really didn't know what to tell these people but he had to speak or else they'd think that he's a complete weirdo...or just plain freaking rude. "...Ugh why why why that case? Honestly I'm one of the Detectives on the case and right about now we have no leads at all. Well at least no credible ones. Someone told us this was a supernatural occurrence but because I can't really bring that forth because well THAT'd be freaking retarded...ugh this case is going to drive me crazy I swear...yare yare. I mean if there's anything that you really want to know specifically from what I can salvage from memory I'll tell you." Kyo would say still with the displeased look on his face. "Detective Tachibana how about you show them all to the conference room, it'll be easier to show them how much time their wasting here." The Clerk suggested. Oh what a good idea you bastard, couldn't you just redirect them there in the first frigging place? "Good Idea, everybody follow me to the conference room please."Kyo said taking a sip of his coffee. The walking through the bland and tasteless corridors of the PD to the conference room didn't take long. Once they got there if they decided to follow him, they'd find a big oval round table with black computer chairs surrounding the table. The main attraction in the room was the projector that was attached the ceiling and pointed to the wall where Kyo would eventually display the data. "Take a seat please, explaining this pleasant case won't take long. Kyo said sarcastically. notes:: Finally. Yuuki blinked twice, rapidly. A conference room! So...he was finally going to get to learn something about the recent cases? Yuuki tried to keep his excitement under control, but he was certain that he broke out into a wide grin at the detective's mentioning of any evidence. There probably wouldn't be much, but anything was always better than nothing in Yuuki's book.
Yuuki cast hesitant glances at the other people assembled around the front desk and proceeded into the belly of the station, towards this mythical, much whispered-about "conference room".
As he walked through the (mostly) sterile police department, he settled down (a little) and got about the business of analyzing Detective Tachibana.
By his exasperated look and his face-palm, Yuuki assumed that he had dealt with a lot of questions lately.
That's good. That's as it should be. People need to be curious and worried about this incident. Or perhaps not so much worried as...concerned.
How concerned, Yuuki wondered, was Detective Tachibana? He hadn't dismissed everyone out of hand, despite his obvious frustration with the questions he was being asked. That at least said something positive about his sense of decency or honor. Or perhaps he was afraid of how the public might perceive the police department through him? Maybe he was only concerned about his job? Either way, Yuuki decided, he seemed motivated to work on the case and with the community - a valuable mind-set for any detective to have.
His words made him seem frustrated. That at least showed that he cared. Again, it was unclear whether this was about how people would perceive him or whether it was about the case. Yuuki decided that it didn't much matter, at this point. What was important to Yuuki was this: despite all of the questions and the mental distress that this case was causing Detective Tachibana, he was still willing to answer questions and to do his job. He had not surrendered to despair and frustration. Yuuki decided that he was a strong willed sort of person, then. A good man to have on the case. Plus, he was dismissive of impossible rumors and supernatural explanations. Although the supernatural tugged powerfully at Yuuki's imagination (goblins abducting his mother? aliens taking her back to their home planet?) the consequences of such things being true absolutely chilled him to the core. No...it was much nicer to imagine some sick-o was abducting people. And it was also nice to imagine that Detective Tachibana might someday have his fist in said sick-o's face.
And the detective had a sarcastic wit. Yuuki smiled, faintly. It was good to have him on the case. He hoped, however, that the detective had a hard-working and thoroughly dedicated partner to balance out that sigh-ing, face-palming, coffee drinking side of his, though. Such traits could build up over time, like dust, and obscure the better qualities of even the finest person. Left unchecked, Yuuki imagined Detective Tachibana becoming gradually indifferent to the case. These were the sorts of thoughts that gripped Yuuki's mind as he entered the conference room.
Yuuki gingerly took a seat in one of the conference room chairs and turned his attention to wherever the projector was pointing.
"Detective, it's much appreciated that you would take the time to show us what you know about the disappearances. I know that the case is still something of a mystery, but some of us have very...personal...connections to it."
Was it proper to reveal that Yuuki was here on personal business? He decided yes, and continued.
"You have to understand that it's difficult to imagine a loved one just...vanishing like this," Yuuki suddenly felt quite awkward, and he let his voice trail off.
Damn! I must look like a fool now. I just can't ever keep my composure when I imagine mother's disappearance...
Yuuki fidgeted in his seat, turning his pocket watch over and over in his hands. He was aware that he must look utterly pathetic now. He couldn't help but allow his face to sour and turn downwards, into his lap.
