Cancerous smoke polluted the humid air, gradually it drifted onward locating a second hand victim to latch to. The underage culprit removed the cigarette from the comforts of his lips, and stared questioningly at the smoldering ash. How did he come to acquiring such a lousy habit? Smoking contradicted his constant stature of health view and any physical activities committed to. Luckily it wasn't an addiction thus far; one or two day relieved a bit stressed loading like a gun on his back.
This was his brothers fault. The other missing victims, too.
One last puff spewed a little too close to a passerby's face, in which they immediately fanned their hand, glaring at their could be future killer. Yohei promptly bowed in forgiveness, growling and scolded himself mentally. Amidst a sigh, the remains of tobacco was tossed into a Junes trashcan.Too bad eliminating irritating thoughts wasn't easy as not littering.
"...Back to work..."
Trailing back into the massive building known as Junes, Yohei instantly felt relief thanks to the bellowing air condition. Although that simple contraption failed to soothe the hate for this deceitful place. He shook his head while clipping his name tag on his yellow collar shirt before clocking back in. The Destination on his brain was the grocery area; stocking and moping the floors there, were where his duties laid. As he stacked the meats in neat, organized piles, noting the price in his own head for shopping later...a familiar jingle saturated the establishment, mocking him.
"Everyday is great at your Junes~!"
His brown shaggy head snapped at one of the loudspeakers bellowing the deceiving phrase, a low growl vibrated his throat. Sure it may have been great for customers, but for employee's this place felt like hell. Or possibly only for Yohei. He felt like a personal slave to the upper management that dragged him in every direction, stretching and twisting. One minute he's in the Electronics section assisting in selling televisions, next thing he knows, the food court is whispering sweet nothing about flipping burgers on their grills.
He groaned loudly, and tried to focus on what was important, which was yen. Soon enough one of the managers strides in his direction, desiring a chat with one of their best worker bees'. It wasn't necessary for the balding manager to explain everything to Yohei, he already knew that assuming another position was the conclusion. All that was required was the particular department.
"Yes sir. I can manage the food court." he stated indifferently. Like a good little soldier, he about-faced and marched off.
In the land of greasy burgers and fries, customers lined up complaining about the slow service. Yohei stared, blank slate applied before chiseling on cheerful work-face. Mentally he continuously reminded himself of the outcome. Yen. Yen. And Yen. It's rent money and groceries for his two bedroom apartment.
"Hi. Welcome to Junes. What can I get for you?" he hated the forced peppy nature, but similar to his opinion about the store, his persona at the moment had to be constructed on lies.

Today had been as busy as usual. Ken had to find a secret way to escape from the school grounds due to a unusually large amount of women trying to "get him". He thought that if he went back to his regular dorm room, they would've just followed him there and try to tear his door down. He rushed through alleys and all that just to get here, a place where they wouldn't suspect him to be at. Hopefully, what the boy thought would be true for the day.
He was now in the huge store known as Junes, the main place to shop at anymore. He simply gave a yawn and a wave as he was greeted by the artificial voice of the cashier nearby. Inside of Junes, there was simply so many sections to choose where to buy stuff. Even though this store had almost anything you could think of, the prices were off the roof. The only thing a regular teenager that didn't work could afford was the food court, and even it was a bit expensive at times.
"Well I guess I might as well go buy something at the food court, it's not like I have enough money to buy anything else here..." the boy said as he released a sigh and pressed the button to open the elevator.
There was about two other people that were around Ken, trying to get in the same elevator even though there was another one right behind it. It had been a minute or two until the elevator that they had all waited on had finally came down to this floor. As it opened, Ken was shoved in by the group of people trying to get inside the transportation device at the same time. He had banged his head on the button because of this, and it caused someone to slip, get their foot caught in the door while it closed, and it ultimately took his shoe way.
If these customers didn't watch it, they'd be more dangerous than a group of gunmen trying to shoot us all to death. Even though Ken's head had bumped on the button slide, it didn't mean he hit the right one. It had took them down to the basement where they could hear...disturbing disturbing sounds. As such, no one went out and frantically pressed a random button which had took them back to the same floor that they had started this whole trip on.
Once again, the boy released a sigh as he pressed the RIGHT button this time. It slowly closed as one more person squeezed through, and then it quickly flew up, taking them to the 3rd floor, also known as the food court. The place wasn't quite as packed as it usually was, but it was still pretty busy if you compared it to any other store. The teen boy had walked into the line and waited patiently until he was next in line. While rubbing his eyes, he had gave out his order.
"Three onigiri please along with a 1 up"
Ken could not help but love the balls of rice covered in seaweed and the soda that had been renamed which was from America. This was probably one of his most favorite foods that he could partake in eating. He had then waited for the man to ask for the yen and anything else that he might need to know.

Junes lunch time rush like a drug induced of what Yohei thought were human. Sadly he was mistaken. In midst of the bizarre daze, the impression imprinted in his cerebral seem beastly. Animals that they were, or that'd the perception emitting from the horde/ They swam, crawled and leaped through the crowd, nipping at each other heels, all for the common goal of surrounding the watering-hole in desperation of food and drink; their fill. And the poor meat bag cooperated, replenishing their empty bellies. Many eyes burning with hunger scowled the lonely man presence. Growling commands were how they conversed; feeling of animosity growing, but the young continued. Quickening his pace, and tired his best amicable approach. It appeared to be working as the situation toned down, that blur slowly fading. Persecution was dwarfed, and the beasts calmed. Finally everything calmed.
Yohei sighed, already feeling exhausted physically and mentally. Two other people tat came to help toward the end of the rowdy customers tapped him on the shoulder, commending his work performance. He nodded enthusiastically, a faint smile flicker across his features. Now all he desired was to rest for a few minutes. The Junes Gods pushing him to work like a slave, had to have a heart. Then again, this was partially fault. Sleep barely knocked on his door the last pass nights, but he still worked overtime for two days.
A hand scrubbed his face hard, and lightly tapped his cheek. Focus. He had to concentrate or he'd be defeats. Directing his eyes in front, he notice one last customer, well, for now. Soon as he went to put on his cheerful act, the young man relayed his order without Yohei having to speak a word.
He nodded.
He stepped back, looking at his reddening hands. At least this order happen to be easy. Five Omusubi, all triangle shape save for two, were left. Since the lacked to mention a certain filling for steamed rice, but it had a sufficient amount of salt on the outside for a lovely taste. Placing the Onigiri on a plate neatly, Yohei pushed it softly toward the young man, who actually appeared around his age. Ensuing the plate of sticky rice was a large helping of 1up beverage.
"Here you go, sir. That will be 200 yen." He paused, viewing the packed area for a sit and found one lone empty table left. Out of the kindness of his heart, after the boy paid the correct amount, Yohei would escort him his chair.
"Follow me."

The meal had cost a total of 200 yen, a pretty cheap price that you usually don't see around in the Junes store. The man had been kind enough to escort the young adult to his own table in which he would consume the meal that he had just purchased.
"Thank you" said the boy as he walked with the male around the food court. They seemed to look around for a bit, most likely due to all of the tables being filled with the previous shoppers in the area that he had served not to long ago.
The boy sighed until he had found a table all the way in the back. The two had walked there and had seen that there was not many people there. Right near the table, there had been a small fountain, something which was pretty hard to build considering it had been put on the top of the third floor.
Once they got there and the man had placed the plate of food on the table, Ken had took a seat and took a sip of his beverage. He looked at the man before giving a slight yawn and stretching his arms. He had looked at his watch before talking to him.
"Thanks...oh and it looks like it's supposed to be the lunch shift for some of the workers here. If so, would you like to join me?" said Ken as he rubbed his eyes.
The sounds of children eating at nearby tables could be heard as well as chatter amongst the older group of citizens. Mostly about TV shows such as Soap Operas, that or random gossip that they had found out about while they blabbered on to their other friends that they had know for a long time. It was indeed a loud day.

As the duo swam through the mess of tables and loud mouth people, something tugged at Yohei mentally, and the horde of human wasn't the problem. The mysterious issue floated inside his dome, unknown, but teased the tip of his tongue. What was he worried about? Cleaning, food, drinks, yen...and that's when it stuck him across the face. If he recalled that wasn't the full price for the customers meal of Omusubi.
Yohei stared back at the boy, who he estimated to be his age, but decided to bite his lip. The mistake laid on him, bothering the customer for more money seemed tiresome, and may infuriate the consumer. Considering losing customers could be perceived as a crime, Yohei will try to forget the whole thing. Hopefully no one else would discover the miscalculation.
Arriving at the table, which was a small one stuck in the back, the Junes slave set the boys plate down. "Here you go." he nodded with his words. After those words sailed off his tongue, Yohei would shot straight back to duty, but digressed when Ken opened his mouth.
Somewhat stunned and lost for words. Yohei stared blankly, wondering how to deny such a friendly request. Before he could part his lips, a few people from the counter walked his way, all smiles of course.
"Yohei take a break, don't kill ya'self. We can handle it for now." stated one of the worker bee's.
"Yeah. Because there are no customers..." remarked Yohei unconsciously. His co-workers laughed as they traced their steps back behind the counter, mumbling something about Yohei being a funny guy, even though he is quiet. They failed to comprehend the statement was somewhat of an unintentional insult than a joke. "Oh well...Sure." Yohei hand gripped on the back of the chair, pulling it back, and lowered his body onto it. Fingers tapped on the table as he looked around a bit, unsure of how to start off some sort of conversation, air of awkwardness heavy. There had to be something he could say; after all, this was the perfect time to work on social skills. "Um...Your enrolled in Shigayomi High?" It was a brilliant icebreaker..
